Film TT to talk strategic plan tomorrow (July 9, 2017)

Film TT will host a stakeholder meeting tomorrow at the Government Plaza Auditorium, Wrightson Road, Port-of-Spain.

FilmTT General Manager Nneka Luke said the upcoming stakeholder meeting will serve to introduce stakeholders to the firm which will be developing a new strategic plan for T&T’s film and audiovisual industry. The organization, Olsberg•SPI, was chosen following a tendering process which involved local and international submissions.

The firm is a creative industries strategy consultancy that provides high-level advice to public and private sector clients, specializing in the worlds of film, television and digital media. Luke said the consultancy will be gathering information on the ground, beginning with the stakeholder meeting.
Luke said strategic plans which have been developed previously will be used as reference points for the work going forward and insisted a new one had to be done because of the rapid changes which have and are taking place in the industry. “There has been some turmoil in the sector, so we have to acknowledge that, recognize where we are now and be very clear about how we’re going to go forward to be able to leverage what we have done well, learn from what we’ve not done well and include the international best practice that we will be getting from this consultancy and work collectively to drive the sector forward and to drive development forward, because it is to the benefit of all to ensure that this film and audiovisual industry works.”
The meeting will take place on July 10 at the Government Plaza Auditorium, Wrightson Road, Port of Spain. Interested participants can register at http://www.filmtt.co.tt/stakeholdermeeting
