Tenor trio Q.E.D. TT (Quite Exquisitely Done) will be entertaining their audiences with beautiful music on December 14 and 15 at St. Dominic’s Pastoral Centre on the compound of St. Finbar’s Church, Morne Coco Road, Diego Martin. The event is their annual Christmas concert, One Night in December.
The group consists of renowned singers Raymond Edwards, Nigel Floyd and Eddie Cumberbatch. Edwards said “four years ago, we envisioned the first concert as a night when people could relax from the hustle and bustle of Christmas preparation. We dreamed of a night where we could entertain our guests with music that was familiar, uplifting and inspiring. We invited a number of our friends to sing with us and encouraged the guests to join us in celebrating the season on this One Night in December.”
He said this year’s theme is an intimate evening. “We’ve scaled down the band and chosen a venue where we are closer to the audience. Our song selection encourages a warm rapport and we chose the smaller, more intimate venue in response to concerns expressed after past performances. These concerns also led us to have two nights of performance instead of one.”
Edwards said guest performers will include “the Massy Trinidad All Stars who will be providing the pre-show entertainment from 7:30 to 7:55 pm. We then move to the main stage where QED and the band will be joined by the harmonious angelic voices of the St. Hilaire Brothers.”
He said the singers hope audiences will take away a sense of peace, joy and pleasure “as we create a wonderful memory for the Christmas season. They will also have the opportunity to take home the lasting memento of unique QED branded merchandise. We offer CDs from performers in the show, custom “Do You Q” T-shirts, beautifully scented candles and cuddly stuffed animals. They make wonderful Christmas gifts and help support the continued development of local talent.”
Part proceeds from the show go to a special cause. “For the last four years QED TT has donated a portion of the profits from their shows to the work of Vitas House, a cancer hospice in St James.
They care for terminally ill cancer patients lovingly and without charge. The gentlemen of QED TT see this organization’s work as truly life bringing and will do all they can to support this noble cause.”
Tickets cost $250 and are available at the Dominican Book Center, Morne Coco Road, Diego Martin, from 381 2704 or any of the singers.
