Connecting people 50+ (April 4, 2019)

Conec Professional Life Coaching Services Limited will host CONEC-TIONS 50+ on April 7 as part of Conec’s Life Journey 50+ movement for people 50 and over. Managing Director Jennifer Gibbons-Joseph said the cocktail event offers people aged 50 and over the opportunity to come out, mix, mingle, network, make new friends, and have a fun in a relaxing and elegant ambiance.

Gibbons-Joseph said the afternoon proceedings would begin with some entertainment, to be followed by the roll- out of CONEC-TIONS 50+ 2019 programme calendar. “The 2019 lineup of events will include small intimate group sessions lasting two to three hours or larger groups of 25 to 35 persons over longer periods of five to six hours. There will also be weekend retreats where participants would recreate the new life experience, which would give them an opportunity to see what life outside work could be like.  Clients will be supported in all areas with access to our free webinars and one-on-one coaching opportunities designed to reinforce everything they have discovered with us. Guests at the opening event will be able to view the different programmes and events scheduled for each month, as well as photos and feedback from previous programs. We would also be introducing our presenters. After this segment, we will be having fun activities where guests can win prizes.”

She said she established Conec in 2013, when “I decided to change careers in preparation for my later stage in life. I was a senior sales manager, which required high energy and long work hours and I wanted to do something less stressful which required utilising my skills and experience and interacting with people, which I loved doing. I became certified as a Professional Life Coach and an Energy Leadership Practitioner. I subsequently started Conec Professional Life Coaching Services Ltd., offering exclusive coaching workshops, individual sessions, intimate group coaching forums and workshops.  Over the years we found that people in the older age group were the ones interested in Conec’s coaching services and after conducted a survey among men and women 50 plus, the results revealed that people nearing retirement or in transition to a later stage in life were very anxious about their future. There was a great need therefore to prepare them for the later stage in life. We subsequently launched the Life Journey 50+ 2018 series which helped men and women aged 50 and over to effectively transition to their post career lives by using their talents and skills to make this period a happier, more energized, meaningful and successful one.  CONEC-TIONS 50+ 2019 series is the continuation of this initiative, with additional programs.”

Gibbons-Joseph said working with this demographic is important for her, as “I have reached that stage where I am at the third act of life and I realized that to be happy and enjoy a fulfilled life journey, I have to live my passion. I have successfully raised two daughters who are living their lives and I am enjoying my two grand- children. I felt I deserve to celebrate me the way I want to. For me age is just a number. I am not fearful about getting old, but instead I focus on keeping healthy and embracing each day, thanking God for my life. My goal is to remain active by monetizing my creativity and knowledge to help others. With my years of experience interacting with people and my friendly and warm personality, my clients are able to experience that breakthrough to live the life they choose.”

She said “our clients bring their experience and talents to the process and together with our specialist coaches, they will chart the way forward with enjoyable and empowering programs and events, to meet their required needs. Our main focus is always on creating a sociable atmosphere where new friends are made and new networks built to facilitate and carry through into your new phase of adult life.”

Gibbons-Joseph said “I want to live my best life and through my company’s 50+ coaching series, to help others to do the same. I want the public to know that life does not stop at sixty and there is an exciting, rewarding, happy and progressive third act phase to explore and enjoy.”
