A Team Band heads to Germany (June 21, 2019)

The A Team Band will be performing at the BonnFire Festival in Bad Honnef, Germany on June 22 and 23. The Festival is the first ever to showcase Caribbean culture in that city, and will host over 15 bands and popular singers from many Caribbean countries including Cuba and the French West Indies.

Marketing and PR Manager Desiree Sorzano said the line up reads as a Who’s Who in the genres of Soca, Calypso, Reggae, Chutney, Dancehall, Zouk, Salsa, Merengue and Afro Beats. “Kes the Band is the headliner in the Soca arena and it’s a pleasure to be on cast with them. At BonnFire Festival we the A Team Band intend to stamp our name and leave our mark on BonnFire Festival by bringing our A Game as we usually do. Showcasing what the A Team Band is about is no easy task. We always seek to maintain our high performance standard whether we are on our own or sharing the stage with other artists. We look forward to enjoying the culture and vibe of the Festival.”

The band is managed by Zarin Morean, and consists of frontline vocalists Kerlene M Kerlz Joseph, Edwin Eddie Charles and Nicholas Prescott, along with musical director/bassist Miguel Charles, keyboardists Joshua Cines and Kellan Douglas, bassist Keron Charles, percussionists Keron Robinson and Kwami Mollineau, and drummer Kareem Romain. At the Festival, the band will be performing alongside Kes the Band, Anthony B, Ms. Desire, One the Band and providing backing for Iwer George and Preedy. The event will also showcase European acts including top homegrown German favourites.

Sorzano said the band is always on the lookout for local and international events that suit its repertoire. “Management and PR are always on the hunt for events that will allow us to showcase our diversity on and off stage. Production Manager & Sound Engineer Brennon Vergil was scouring the internet and came across the BonnFire Festival. He reached out to the promoter of the BonnFire Festival, who coincidentally at that time was already considering engaging the band, and the rest is history.”

In addition to performing at the BonnFire Festival, Sorzano said the band will be performing at the Republic Bank Decibel Series and Great Fete Weekend in Tobago, as well as tentatively the St. Johns Music Festival, USVI.
