Seventy citizens return on a Suriname Airways flight, after authorization was given. The group was taken to mandatory quarantine at UWI Penal/Debe Campus.

Seventy citizens return on a Suriname Airways flight, after authorization was given. The group was taken to mandatory quarantine at UWI Penal/Debe Campus. Piarco International Airport, Golden Grove Road. Piarco.

Seventy TT citizens who were stranded in Suriname returned home this morning and were quickly taken away under police escort to begin two weeks of mandatory quarantine. Their charter flight landed at Piarco Airport at 10.23 am.

The group was met by healthcare personnel and a fleet of PTSC buses. A convoy comprising a police escort, the returnees, in the PTSC buses, Defence Force personnel and a delegation from the Civilian Conservation Corps left the airport at 11.15 am.

They are being transported to the UWI South Campus in Penal/Debe, where they will be tested and kept quarantined for the next 14 days.

They are the latest group to return home after being stranded overseas after 33 others returned home less than two weeks ago from Barbados.
